This is the exact-numbers guide: the precise ISO, aperture, shutter and white balance for the viral ZV-1 flash look, pulled from my own shots. Want to understand why these settings work so you can adapt on the fly? Pair it with my Sony ZV-1 Flash Guide: How Your Flash Actually Works — that one is the foundation, this one is the recipes.
You've got a flash for your ZV-1 and it's either living in a drawer or it's on the camera making every photo look like it was taken with a flash. This is the guide that fixes the second one.
Twelve conditions, all shot on my own ZV-1 with the EXIF on the frame: full sun, hazy sun, dappled shade, backlit golden hour, blue hour, indoors and night. Each one gives you the shutter, aperture, ISO, white balance, WB shift and Creative Style, plus which flash was on the camera and exactly what I had it set to. That last part is the bit you can't get anywhere else, because your camera doesn't record it.
It also answers the question that's hardest to find a straight answer to: which flash to actually reach for. I shoot three, from one that fits in a pocket to a full-size speedlight, and the guide walks through what each is genuinely capable of and where it gives up, so you're not standing in midday sun wondering why your fill disappeared.
What's inside:
Twelve flash conditions with full settings, shown on the photo they came from
Two Quick Reference Tables so you can find a recipe without reading anything
Which Flash, When: how distance and aperture decide your power, not the flash's size
What each one can actually do, across all three flashes
A note on my favourite flash and why it's the one that stays in the bag
White balance and Kelvin, with four examples of the same scene at four temperatures
Six flash habits that fix problems before you press the shutter
Written for the ZV-1 specifically, which means no hunting for a sync speed and no high-speed sync to work around. If you want the theory underneath all of it, that's my Sony ZV-1 Flash Guide. This one is the numbers.
Who this is for:
ZV-1 owners who already have a flash (or are about to get one) and want exact settings

Anyone who's read my ZV-1 Flash Theory Guide and wants the working version to shoot from
Photographers who want a Quick Reference they can pull up in the moment, not read cover to cover
Who this is not for:
People who haven't picked up a flash yet, the ZV-1 Flash Theory Guide is where to start
RX100 VII shooters, there's a separate settings guide built for that body
Anyone who wants the "why" behind flash on the ZV-1, that's the Theory guide
Format & Compatibility One digital PDF. Written for the Sony ZV-1 (original Mark I). Not compatible with the ZV-1F or ZV-1 II. Settings shown across three flashes I own; the framework applies to any Sony-compatible flash on the ZV-1's multi-interface shoe.
